Carlisle and Steeplrock
You start your trip to Carlisle in Duncan, Arizona--on Arizona Route 70,
you turn right on the first road beyond milepost 380. After a short
ways, a sign warns you the road is "unimproved", and that Carlisle is
13 miles east. You pass from Arizona into New Mexico, and about the
six mile mark you have a fine view of Steeple Rock rising 6,259 feet
--and resembling, somewhat, a church steeple.

There's an old mine entrance, an explosives cache shed, an abandoned
bell signals sign, and an abandoned mine-head control shack.
