Van Patten's Camp and Resort Hotel was built in the late 1800's by Col.
Eugene Van Patten. It had 16 rooms, a dining room, and a concert hall.
The top map is an overview of the Dripping Springs area--Camp ruins to
the right.
In 1917, Van Patten went bankrupt and the area was sold to Dr. Nathan Boyd
who constructed a tuberculosis sanatorium near the Resort.
In the 1940's the area was abandoned and was later scavenged for building
materials.
