Grave 39 - may have been the grave of Brose Burleson
Brose was the son of Edward D. Burleson and Alice Dora Dansen who were
married on November 11, 1886 in Seven Rivers by Rev. J. R. Hammond.
Brose, when 5 years old, was injured when he fell from the back of a
burro he was riding with two other children.
No marker for Brose was found in the cemetery. Grave 39 contained an
undecorated and unpainted coffin of ponderosa pine and bones in so
poor a condition as to make evaluation very difficult. There was
also a piece of gold, grosgrain ribbon and fragments of black cloth
plus a metal button.
Brose may have died from a combination of his injuries from his fall
together with typhoid fever, but there is little evidence to prove
that this is what happened. Nor that this was Brose's grave.
