The International Space Hall of Fame, Alamogordo
The International Space Hall of Fame opened in 1976 to care for
and exhibit artifacts of our shared space history. In October, each year,
new members are inducted into the Space Hall of Fame each for a notable
contribution to space exploration.
Included at the site in Alamogordo in addition to the Hall of Fame
are a Shuttle Camp, a summer program for children through the
12th grade, the Astronaut Memorial Garden, and an IMAX Dome Theater and
Planetarium.
The Hall of Fame has 5 floors. Each floor is arranged as a Gallery.
You start viewing exhibits after taking an elevator to the 4th-floor
Gallery (Blazing New Trails) and then walking down sloping walkways
back to the first floor.
