South Valley places in southern New Mexico

South Valley towns are those along both NM 28 and I-10 south of Las Cruces to El Paso, Texas.

Included, among others, are Mesilla Park, La Mesa and Vado. All are in the center of the lower Mesilla Valley. In addition to the state road and the interstate road, South Valley towns are close to the railroad tracks running between Albuquerque and El Paso.

The Mesilla Valley extends from Radium Springs to El Paso. Cotton, chile, pecans and other crops are grown in the fertile soil of the Valley in what is New Mexico's largest area of irrigated farmland.
