Missions and Churches from the 1920'S

SAN MIGUEL CHURCH (Saint Michael) in Santa Fe was erected by Don Juan de Onate in 1608, the oldest place of worship in the United States. The old mission bell, just inside the doorway, was the largest and second oldest in North America.

SAN ILDEFONSO (Saint Alfonso), 18 miles north of Santa Fe, near the Black Mesa. In 1920, old paintings on elk and buffalo skins helped furnish the Church.
